Responding to a request from the new Health Minister, Anne Speed  UNISON’s Head of Bargaining and Lead Secretary of the Joint Trade Union Group of  Health Unions has agreed to lead a delegation to meet him on Tuesday 14^th January .

Today (10^th January) UNISON notes that several parties have confirmed their support for a deal to restore devolved government in Northern Ireland. Responding to this, UNISON Regional Secretary Patricia McKeown said:

“We welcome the fact that several of our political parties have now reached agreement for the restoration of government.

Today (6^th January) UNISON, the largest union across the health and social services system, can announce that our members working across the health service will be taking strike action on Friday 10^th January. This is a continuation of the industrial action that commenced in November 2019 over the lack of pay parity with NHS workers in Scotland, England and Wales and over unsafe staffing levels.
