NHS members in Northern Ireland get less pay than NHS Staff in Scotland, England and Wales. This is unfair and unacceptable.

UNISON Members voted in favour of strike action. The next phase of industrial action took place on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd September.

ONE TEAM 2K

UNISON has now submitted a pay claim to the UK Government at Westminster calling for all workers on Agenda for Change to receive an increase of at least £2,000 before the end of the year. 
In Northern Ireland, UNISON has written to the Health Minister, Robin Swann MLA, calling on him to support an early and significant pay rise. We are demanding that the UK Government make resources available to fund the pay award for all health and social care workers in Northern Ireland.

Moving Forward on NHS Pay Campaign 2020

NHS pay campaign update: August 2020 

UNISON is campaigning along with 14 other health unions for an early and substantial pay rise for NHS staff across the UK. 

When the UK Chancellor announced the long-delayed 2020 Pay Review Body awards for workers in other sectors, he failed to take the opportunity to respond to our call to move NHS pay forward by committing to give health staff a pay rise before the end of the current Agenda for Change deals in March 2021.

Agenda For Change Pay Consultation

Your outstanding efforts during the industrial action period resulted in the reformation of the Northern Ireland Executive and the creation of a Framework Agreement bringing pay parity with health workers in England. 

UNISON held a consultation process to ballot our members on their decision to accept or reject the new pay offer. We believe this is the best achievable through negotiation and proposed a recommendation that members vote to accept the pay offer.

Strike Action Health 2019

NHS members in Northern Ireland get less pay than NHS Staff in Scotland, England and Wales. This is unfair and unacceptable.

UNISON Members voted in favour of strike action. The first phase of industrial action took place on Monday 25th November with pickets continuing until January. Members have taken across different occupational sectors on different dates during the period of action.
