Rally for Marriage Equality - 1 July 2017

On Saturday 1 July 20,000 people marched for marriage equality. 

The Trade Unions fully support the equal marriage campaign and UNISON were out in force last Saturday. 

On 5 July at the Congress Biennial Conference the 'Trade Unions love Equality' campaign was launched. 

Speaking ahead of the launch of Trade Unions Love Equality, ICTU General Secretary Patricia King said:

“Congress was proud to play an active role in the referendum campaign in the Republic of Ireland and we saw how transformational the Yes result was for our society. Congress is part of the Love Equality consortium in NI and as several hundred trade union delegates gather in Belfast, we wish to pledge our continued support to achieve full marriage equality for all of the citizens for Northern Ireland.’
