UNISON Northern Ireland

Protest Pays Off

Bryson Care is part of the larger Bryson Charitable Group and provides domiciliary care services across Northern Ireland.  In recent months the company was successful in securing a contract with the Western Health and Social Care Trust to provide domiciliary care services to people across the Trust geographical area.  UNISON learned that Bryson Care were planning to overhaul the terms and conditions of their domiciliary care workforce.

UNISON held a a protest outside the offices in Derry on Monday 8 May 2017.

Due to this protest and mounting pressure Bryson Charitable Group have started paying their staff millage. This is a tremendous win for some staff who had to fork out £20+ per week in some instances.

Bryson Charitable Group have agreed to meet with UNISON reps on Wednesday 17 May 2017 to discuss further concerns. This means a planned protest for this Friday 19th of May has been postponed until further notice.

If you work for a private domiciliary care agency and are not getting millage or incur other costs please contact UNISON on 02890 270 190.

Well Done to all those involved!!!
