Lack of funding in education raises concern for UNISON

UNISON's Education Committee notes with deep concern confirmation from the Chief Executive Officer of the Education Authority that a lack of funding is having a devastating impact on schools in Northern Ireland. There are over 450 schools that could not balance their books in 2019 and for many there is no more room to make savings.

Our Regional Secretary and our Head of Bargaining have today written to the EA stressing UNISON'S continuing support for sustainable funding for EDUCATION and indicated that  our union will step up and speak out for pupils, their parents and our members who have to cope in very challenging circumstances.
