Join the UNISON lottery – win cash prizes AND support our charity, There for You
The new UNISON Lottery has arrived. Relaunched on 1 February, all members can enter the monthly draw for as little as £1 a month and be in with the chance of winning prizes up to £1,000.
It’s also a powerful way to support There for You, the charity for UNISON members.
Every year, more than 3,000 members and their families come to There for You for help – often in desperation, with difficulties in their personal lives.
Members can benefit from a range of services, including financial assistance, advice and information on a range of issues – such as emotional support and help with managing debts – wellbeing breaks and other forms of practical support.
Rising costs and stagnant wages, combined with the increasing complexity and stress of modern life, means that many more members are struggling. That’s why There for You’s services are so crucial.
The UNISON Lottery has been launched to help raise vital funds for the charity, because if There for You is going to continue to support members through tough times, more funds need to be raised to meet the demand.
Debra from the south west said: “As a former branch welfare officer, I know how important fundraising is for the work that There for You does with members who are experiencing difficulties. And win or lose, you’re still supporting UNISON’s very own charity.”
Joining the lottery is a powerful way to support UNISON’s charity for members with a regular donation. You can join as an individual member or your branch can join too.
And it’s really the more the merrier, since the prize fund gets bigger as more people pay into the pot.
If you’re an activist, you can help encourage members to join the lottery and support There for You. We have devised new materials to help you spread the word:
- display a poster on your workplace or branch noticeboard (stock number 3855);
- leave a few leaflets in the staffroom or to help you start a conversation (stock number 3856).
