Inez McCormack Road

Belfast's Crumlin Road has been renamed Inez McCormack Road as part of the celebrations for International Women's Week.

Inez was the first female regional secretary of UNISON and became the first woman to chair the Northern Ireland committee of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) (1984-1985). She also served as the first female ICTU president in 1999-2001. 

In 2006, Inez went onto start Participation and Practice of Rights (PPR), a human rights organisation based in Belfast which helps marginalised groups in society.
