TEST! TEST! TEST! - We are running out of time!

On 23 March UNISON called for increased testing across Northern Ireland as a matter of urgency.  We did so because leading public health experts were echoing Dr Michael Ryan of the WHO on a daily basis.  Today's article in The Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/01/absolutely-wrong-how-uk-coronavirus-test-strategy-unravelled must give us all cause for concern. 

In the past 24 hours we have brought these concerns directly to the Health Minister and today with OFM DFM.  The time has come for our own Government to take the lead in response to the crisis, rather than follow. 

We and our members are working tirelessly to help protect the people.  We need and hope for a joined up approach.
