This workshop aims to enable members to look at how communication can support engagement with colleagues on a range of issues. Effective and respectful communication can facilitate a positive working environment while communication breakdown can be a source of conflict and stress. This workshop is particularly useful for those who supervise or manage others but is also relevant to those working in any kind of teams e.g. in health, in a school, in a voluntary organisation It will help participants to understand better how communication works, why it breaks down, the pitfalls of poor communication, how to improve your own communication skills and the assertiveness model for effective communication.
