UNISON Organising Awards - Nominations

Nominations for the 2018 UNISON Organising Awards are now open!

We want to know about your successful campaigns, an outstanding new steward you have, any recruitment initiatives you have held in 2017 or how you have used new and exciting communication strategies to connect with our members. We know our branches across Northern Ireland have been very busy this year, so why not take this chance to reward your branch for their participation and celebrate your success?

Categories for nominations are as follows:

  • Organising and Recruitment
  • Membership Participation
  • Negotiation and Representation
  • Campaigning
  • Communications
  • Recognising Excellence – individual award
  • Outstanding New Steward (during 2017) – individual award

Nomination forms can be downloaded and printed by clicking on the icon below. Please ensure to adhere to the award criteria when entering your nomination:

  • Branches are entitled to submit only one nomination in each category.
  • The same nomination cannot be submitted to two different categories.
  • Nominations must come from the branch or group from which the campaign or strategy originates or from where the individual is a member.
  • Campaigns or strategies should have commenced, been completed, or should have been ongoing during 2017.
  • Campaigns, strategies and/or individuals should, in general, not be submitted by branches if they have been nominated previously. Such nominations will only be considered by the judging panel if there is substantive, demonstrable evidence that they are substantially different from previous applications in terms of work undertaken and/or outcomes achieved.
  • Chaired by the Head of Organising and Development, the judging panel will consist of members of the UNISON NI Branch Development Group – a sub-group of the Regional Committee. The decision of the judging panel is final.
  • Members of the judging panel are ineligible to consider the merits of applications from their own respective branches.
  • Please answer every question and include all relevant information.
