The NMC Code clearly sets out the need for the Nurse to understand care interventions undertaken. It’s not enough therefore just to administer medicines that have been prescribed but to understand their relevance, actions and efficacy. In this tutorial, the participants will have the opportunity to gain a knowledge and understanding of principles of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics which can be applied to the practice of medicines administration. It is targeted at nurses, student nurses/midwives, paramedics and pharmacy techs but open to any member.
